Bodhi is Fish Kid! He can breathe underwater and swim at incredible speeds. Bodhi’s friend Emely arrives from the USA to join him on a holiday with Bodhi’s grandfather (Pops) near the Ningaloo Reef. The ocean in this area is home to amazing sea creatures like manta rays, octopuses, remora and humpback whales. However, Pops is not his usual cheery self because last year Bodhi’s Nan went swimming with manta rays and never came back. Every day Bodhi and Emely wait until Pops is at the shops so they can search for those manta rays themselves. One morning while everyone is still asleep Bodhi decides to swim out on his own – and that’s when things go horribly wrong. This second book in the Fish Kid series will tickle the funny bones of younger readers. Kylie Howarth’s exciting storytelling is interspersed with her appealing grayscale illustrations and pages of fascinating facts about Ningaloo’s sea creatures.
