CEO - Sharon Flindell
Sharon Flindell has worked across cultural industries - both in Australia and internationally - for more than thirty years, working with many exceptional artists including Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, Michael Nyman and Robert Lepage. As a London-based independent producer some key projects included producing and programming Hungary's first international contemporary arts festival of the post-communist era; producing the interdisciplinary work Dinner (Director, Jonathan Stone) as an international co-production with Spoleto Festival Charleston, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival USA and Glasgow City of Culture; and the sell-out West End run of the Schiller Theater (Berlin) production of Macbeth. She has been the CEO of writingWA since 2005.
Regional Projects Officer - Deidre Robb
Deidre Robb’s background is in the library and contemporary craft/design sectors. Since moving to WA from NZ seven years ago, the main emphasis of her work has been in project management and event management. She has worked to a diverse range of briefs including 'celebrate the anniversary of the State library', ‘design and deliver a National Year of Reading program’, 'create new opportunities for local artists and artisans to promote and sell their work', and ‘improve civic pride’. Her volunteer roles include being an Artistic Director for an arts, culture, heritage and education organization and a gallery attendant/assistant.
Digital Content Management - Belinda Hermawan
Belinda Hermawan works in Digital Communications for writingWA, Western Australia's peak body for literature. She currently sits on the committee for the 2018 Australian Short Story Festival, and is a former president of the Fellowship of Australian Writers WA. She is also a writing group facilitator at the Centre for Stories and serves as the Studios Manager at artist-run-initiative Paper Mountain.
Regional Project Support - Rebecca Harris
Rebecca Harris is Regional Project Support at writingWA. She is currently an English & Cultural Studies Honours student at the University of Western Australia (UWA) where she is writing her dissertation on The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Rebecca is currently one of the co-editors for Tenderfoot, a creative arts journal at UWA. She was previously an editorial intern at Westerly Magazine, a general intern at Margaret River Press and a Food Writer/Editor at Colosoul Magazine.
