The Mattie Furphy Short Story Competition run by the Fellowship of Australian Writers WA is open!
Prizes range from $1000 for first prize, $300 for second prize and $100 for third.

Open topic, up to 3000 words.

Brooke Dunnell, who has had short stories published in New Australian Fiction 2021, Best Australian Stories as well as Meanjin, Westerly, and other anthologies, is judging the Mattie Furphy prize this year.

Entries are $22 for FAWWA members and $27 for non-members.
