Writing WA has reached an exciting new milestone!
As Writing WA continues to grow and service more of the sector, we’re introducing Associate Memberships to make it easier for more people to share in the benefits of being a member.
What is Associate Membership and what does it include?
Unlike the Literati and Corporate tiers of membership, Associate Membership is open to any individual in the community who wants to engage with Writing WA, our services, and to promote writing-related events to our audience.
In addition to the free fortnightly newsletter offered to all Writing WA subscribers, Associate Members will also get:
- access to create articles and events for the Noticeboard
- member prices to Writing WA-run workshops, events and services
- free entry to select Writing WA-run writing competitions
- the ability to apply for the free book-launch service at the State Library of Western Australia (limited placements available each year)
- invitations to industry round-table discussions
- a free consultation with a member of Writing WA staff to discuss your writing ambitions and pathways
To celebrate this exciting new step for Writing WA, we’re offering the first ten people to sign up for Associate Membership a mystery book pack from the Writing WA shelves!* We are delighted to take on this opportunity to connect with more members of the community and we can’t wait to welcome you to our membership ranks.
*Book packs to be collected from the Writing WA office at the State Library of Western Australia or postage covered at your own expense.
FAQs
How much does Associate Membership cost?
To access all the great benefits of Associate Membership with Writing WA, it costs just $55 a year or just over $1 a week!
I’m a Literati Member. Do I need to sign up for Associate Membership?
Literati members will automatically receive Associate Membership and all the benefits of Associate membership as part of their existing membership.
What is the difference between Associate Membership and Literati Membership?
Literati Membership is for writing and publishing professionals with proven qualifications for working in their respective fields. It allows them to advertise their services in the Literati Database and they are the first port of call for Writing WA when drawing on professional expertise for a number of services.
What is the difference between Associate Membership and Corporate Membership?
Corporate Members form the foundations of Writing WA. They consist of the variety of publishers, booksellers, libraries and writing centres that provide services to the writers of WA. As voting members, our Corporate Members are the ones that nominate and elect the Board.
