Centre for Stories recently launched Story Lounge, a pop-up storytelling venue in Perth’s CBD.
It’s open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, and on select Saturdays for events.
Inside you’ll find a First Nations library you can explore, a listening station where you can access their archive of oral stories, and a recording station where you can share your own memories of Perth.
Programming at Story Lounge includes a regular First Nations Book Club, Write Night in the City, Slam Poetry, as well as writing workshops, and conversations about social justice issues.
It is located at 720 Hay Street Mall, and you can find all the events being hosted at Story Lounge on Centre for Stories website
Story Lounge aims to contribute to the revitalisation of Perth’s CBD and engage new audiences in the arts sector, while providing employment and professional development opportunities for WA’s diverse artists and art professionals. It is a safe space for people to connect, and Centre for Stories is inviting the public to explore the space, and other organisations to get in touch if they are interested in collaborating with us or using the space.
Story Lounge would not be possible without the Humich Group who donated the space at 720 Hay Street Mall to activate the CBD for local creatives, as well as financial support from the City of Perth.
