Deb Fitzpatrick

Summary

Deb Fitzpatrick is the author of ten books. She has received awards in Australia (CBCA, WAYBRA), been published in the US and optioned for film. Deb has a Master of Arts and loves weaving stories from real life into her writing. She regularly teaches creative writing to people of all ages. Deb lived for four years in the cloudforest of Costa Rica with sloths and monkeys in the trees around her house. She is a highly energetic, enthusiastic teacher of creative writing and loves meeting writers of all ages to motivate and inspire them. She is also a freelance editor. Deb shares her life with her family and their kelpie, who is absolutely not a failed sheep dog.

Biography

Deb Fitzpatrick lives and works in Fremantle, and has published ten books. Her two young adult novels ('90 Packets of Instant Noodles' and 'Have You Seen Ally Queen?') were named Notable Books by the Children’s Book Council of Australia; two of her books have been shortlisted in the West Australian Young Readers Book Awards (WAYRBAs); and her middle grade book 'The Amazing Spencer Gray' was published in the US in 2017. Deb has a Master of Arts (creative writing) from UWA, and regularly teaches creative writing, professional writing, and editing to children, teenagers and adults. Deb’s latest book is 'Kelpie Chaos'.
