How To Rob A Bank. Crime Writing with Campbell Jefferys

16 November @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$50.00 – $62.00

Crime pays, when you write about it well. But the crime genre is also a useful entry point for “stealing” essential writing skills. Join with us as Campbell Jefferys, a writer-in-residence alumni of PCWC, leads the heist in this workshop, helping participants to write about crime while gaining key insights into point-of-view, narrator knowledge, scene setting, characterisation, dialogue, the metaphorical use of objects and much more.

Campbell Jefferys comes from a small town in Western Australia and lives in Hamburg. His second book, Hunter, won the 2009 Indie Book Award in the fiction category. He is also the author of The Bicycle Teacher (2005), True Blue Tucker (2011), Rowan and Eris (2018), Balaclava (2023) and the non-fiction travel collection Greetings from. One of his short stories, Mikelis, was made into a short film, and in 2020 he led the Perth Writers Salon during the Perth Fringe Festival. He also creates content for some of the world’s biggest brands, including videos, press materials and creative copy. He sold his first screenplay in 2024 to Tatami Films and Marlene Films, and it is currently in pre-production. He also writes under the name Royce Leville.
