Welcome to 2022

We hope that you’ve all enjoyed a wonderful festive season and a fabulous start to 2022. At Writing WA we are looking forward to another big, busy year and wanted to get things started by suggesting you save a few dates and join us for these celebrations of writing and writers:

Literature Live Around the World, 5 February
Presented in association with Bergen Lit Fest.
LLAW is a writers’ festival taking place across 12 countries in one day. The program will include sessions hosted by Norway, Botswana, Hungary, Canada, France, China, the USA and UK, India and Australia. Australia’s session, produced by Writing WA and broadcast live from Perth, will feature WA author Dr Michelle Johnston in conversation with Claire Nichols.
(Watch our 2021 event featuring Kim Scott).

Quantum Words Perth, 8 10 April
Presented in association with Writing NSW.
Western Australia’s only festival dedicated to writing about science, innovation, creativity, and the spaces in which they intersect, will return to the State Theatre Centre for a second time in April.
I loved the format and the selection of topics, speakers and moderators. The content was accessible to a wide audience without compromising on rigour and depth of the dazzling range of issues discussed.  Oron Catts, Director SymbioticA

Love to Read Local Week, 3 10 June
Coinciding with Celebrate WA Day, Love to Read Local Week is Writing WA’s state-wide celebration of Western Australia’s many wonderful writers and illustrators, and the books they create. We invite you to start thinking about the ways in which you and/or your organisations might be a part of the Week with your own events and activities.

If you’d like to keep in touch with Writing WA and receive updates regarding these events, make sure to subscribe to our e-news.
