Michaela Ironwood

Summary

Michaela is an Emerging Writers Program participant for 2024-25. She left veterinary nursing in 2022 to chase her creative dreams. She is currently editing her YA fiction manuscript with her EWP mentor, Sharron Booth, and writing an Adult contemporary fiction novel. She is a member of Peter Cowan Writers Centre and a creative writing student at Curtin University. When she’s not crafting fantasy worlds and messy lives, she’s gaming, reading or lurking at industry events.

Biography

Michaela is in the final year of her BA in Creative Writing and has an Undergraduate Certificate in Professional Writing and Publishing. Three of her short stories have been longlisted in competitions, with two published in anthologies. She was a member of Inklings Writers’ Workshop for six years and continues to seek opportunities to develop her skills and support the writing community. Her passion for editing has developed into a goal to combine freelance beta reading and editing services with her writing career.
