Julie's creative palette is her diversity of practice led by a life-long interest and commitment to exploration of the act of creation in its many semblances.

Julie's recent work in biography is informed by her academic background and arts practice in visual and public art, integrated with design for performance. This diversification in studio practice provides her with opportunities to research, imagine, inspire, and realise imagery as a creator, collaborator, academic and freelance writer.

Biography

Julie Parsons is a professional arts practitioner and writer based in Fremantle, Western Australia. Work as an artist has entailed responding to complex public art proposals and theatrical production design commissions. Her focus on art, history and performance led to a Master’s in Creative Arts, exploring the design history of the harlequin costume.
Julie currently writes for arts journals and is a non-fiction author.
Her achievements are cited in "Inspired by Light and Land", “Artlink”, “Craftswest”, “A Dictionary of Women Artists in Australia”, “Who’s Who of Australian Visual Artists”’ and a “Spirited Place”. With work in private, corporate and government art collections, her personal output include solo and numerous group exhibitions Australia wide, as well as in France, Germany, Wales and Vietnam.
