Inkling is a five-week, paid writers program for up to six playwrights.
It offers playwrights time and space to explore a new piece. The playwrights will work on a new play that will culminate in a taster reading at the festival in November.
Inkling includes:

A weekly stipend of $750 for five weeks (total of $3750 each).

Sessions led by our festival team with additional support by dramaturg of your choosing.

Script workshop with actors in the final week (Nov 4th-8th).

An excerpt of each piece being staged during the festival.
Eligibility:

Playwrights can be at any stage of their career but must have written and had produced one full length play (including professional, independent, and fringe).

Based in WA (Regional playwrights are encouraged to apply, as long as they can be in Perth, Nov 5th-9th. See our Regional Playwrights Fund for information travel support).
