The move from primary to high school can be a stressful period for children. This move happens during early adolescence, a time of increased risk for the development of mental health problems. This transition might be particularly stressful for children with language and/or literacy difficulties, due the increased educational and literacy related demands placed on children. If you have a child in year 6 you and your child can participate in this study to help us understand how to support kids during the transition to high school.
Participation can be 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 and is open 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚.
Participation involves:
-1.5 hours of the parent/caregiver and child’s time
-Survey completion and language and literacy tasks
-A member of our friendly team there to help
-Kids get a gift voucher and parents receive a report summarising their child’s language and literacy skills.
