Writing WA Appoints New Communications Manager

Writing WA has appointed Heather Blakey to the position of communications manager.

Heather joins Writing WA from London-based publisher Bonnier Books UK, where she most recently held the position of digital brand and communications lead. She will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Writing WA’s communications strategy and programs and will work closely alongside CEO Sharon Flindell to continue to build the organisation’s capacity.

Heather has previously held communications positions at academic publisher Rowman and Littlefield International and Fremantle Press.

Her experience, energy, and knowledge of both our local industry and the international publishing scene will be a great asset to our team as we look forward to an exciting program of activity in 2021and beyond.’
