Terri-ann White, who was Director and Publisher at UWA Publishing from 2006 until June 2020, will be launching a small imprint, Upswell, in mid-2021.
The intention is to publish a small number of distinctive books each year in the areas of narrative nonfiction, fiction and poetry, with a particular focus on books that elude easy categorising.
White has entered into an agreement with Black Inc Books for Upswell to be distributed within their list by Penguin Random House.
Upswell will be a not-for-profit company and will be open for manuscript submissions shortly. The first book release will be announced in January for an August release.
