Are you a young writer under the age of 18?
Would you like to meet up with other young writers and be encouraged in your writing while being mentored by an experienced faciliator?
Then KSP Writers’ Centre in Greenmount has a group for you:
Scribe-Tribe: Wednesdays during the school term, from 4.00 pm to 5.30 pm, suitable for young writers ages 10-17
Homeschoolers: Wednesdays during the school term, from 2.15 pm to 3.15 pm with an option for older writers to stay for an additional 30 minutes (fees apply), suitable for young writers ages 8-16
These weekly recreational groups, held during term time, are led by Steph Bedford, an encouraging facilitator. There are no grades or exams here, just lively discussions, reading performances, writing tips and exercises, editing lessons, and the opportunity to publish work in KSP’s annual anthology. The students have an opportunity to develop their writing skills, meet new friends and share their passion for reading and writing in a supportive, encouraging environment!
As described by one of the wonderful students, youth groups provide “a safe place for young people to come and write, with the opportunity for feedback and to see their work published.”
