After a colourful book tour down the East coast of Australia, “Fragments of the Sky” (by Julie Parsons), was successfully launched in WA at the very welcoming and supportive AH Bracks Library, in Melville. The launch was exceptionally well attended, requiring additional last-minute seating. With a full auditorium and Julie mic’d for the occasion, a pleasing and animated presentation was made using some of the curious images from “Fragments of the Sky”.
The complex story is cleverly told through the intertwining of the lives of two artists, each on opposite sides of Australia and a generation apart. One, a war veteran and successful Sydney mid-century artist, the other, just starting out. Both speaking through their creativity.
“Fragments of the Sky” is available through the Fremantle Arts Centre, New Edition Books, Fremantle and on-line. It is also available for loan through the AH Bracks Library. An exceptional read.
