The results of the Australian Society of Authors survey are in!
More than 1400 participants responded to the survey, which included the question, What is your average annual income from your creative practice?
Of the total respondents, almost 80% are earning less than $15,000 per year, with 49.7% earning less than $2,000. For those who classified themselves as full-time writers, 53.6% stated that they earned less than $15,000 per year from their creative practice, with 23.2% of them earning less than $2,000 per year.
