The 2026 Mattie Furphy Short Story Competition is open for entry to writers 18 years and over residing in Australia. All submissions must be previously unpublished and no more than 3000 words. Entry fee: $22 FAWWA members, $27 non-members. Prizes: 1st $1,000, 2nd $300, 3rd $100.
