Biography

Rachel Vine is a developmental editor, story coach, and writer specialising in children’s, middle grade, YA, and new adult fiction. With a background in children’s and youth services, children’s literature, and librarianship, she brings specialist knowledge of storytelling, literacy, and the ways young readers engage with narrative through character, voice, structure, pacing, and emotional resonance. Rachel is an experienced children’s and youth librarian and may be recognised through the workshops and events she has delivered at libraries across Perth, including Storytime and Rhymetime sessions.

Through Wildflower Editorial, Rachel works with emerging and established writers on manuscript assessments, developmental editing, copyediting, and story coaching. Over the past six years, she has worked with more than 100 writers and publishing clients across children’s, YA, and new adult fiction, with many projects progressing to publication.

Alongside her editorial work, Rachel shares storycraft insights through her podcasts Books in Bloom and Likely Stories, as well as through workshops and online resources for writers.
