Summary

I am a freelance editor and award-winning journalist. My work on three continents has uncovered nuclear secrets, exposed white collar criminals and unseated a corrupt President. I have also worked in state government, as an analyst for criminal justice agencies.

My background as an investigative journalist has equipped me with editing superpowers, such as identifying the story buried under mounds of information, organising facts into a compelling narrative, paying close attention to detail and writing clearly and compellingly for a variety of audiences.

My experience gives me unique insight into how politics, business and crime intersect in the 21st Century, which may be of particular interest to writers of crime/thriller, action/adventure, contemporary and historical fiction, and to writers of autobiography, biography, history and business non-fiction.

My services include editorial advice, manuscript assessments, substantive edits and copy/line editing. I am also available to edit government, corporate and academic writing.

My journalistic work has been published internationally by, among others, The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph.

My literati credentials include a MA in English Literature with distinction for a thesis on the works of 17th century English poet Robert Herrick.

I recently completed ELVTR's Editor in Book Publishing course, a three-month deep-dive into the editing and publishing industry in Australia and internationally.

Recent experience

Provided manuscript advice and editing for several clients in 2024-26, including a corporate spy novel, a business biography and two intergenerational family memoirs.

Delivered talks on Investigating Corruption at universities and public libraries in the Perth metro area (2024-6).

Wrote and edited reports on sanctions evasion, corporate greenwashing and international money laundering (2023-4)
