Biography
Helen has taught creative writing (fiction) and poetry at the Fremantle Arts Centre in association with OOTA (Out of the Asylum Writers Inc.) In 2004, she received a poetry mentorship award from the ASA studying with Jean Kent. In 2008, she won a Macquarie/Varuna Longlines Poetry scholarship. resulting in the publication of "Evangelyne & Other Poems" (2009). "of Arc & Shadow" was published by Sunline Press, (2013). Her debut novel "The Last Asbestos Town" has just been released and published by Adelaide Books, New York, (May 2020)

Helen Hagemann holds a Masters in Writing from Edith Cowan University.
Recent experience
Poetry Workshop at Mattie Furphy House for the members of Writers United.
Accepted into Eramboo Artist Residency, Terrey Hills. NSW for March- April, 2020 (unable to attend re Covid-19) The residency remains valid when things are back to normal.
