Helen Hagemann writes poetry and fiction. Her work is published in Australian literary journals, including Southerly, Westerly, Overland, Cordite & Island Magazine. Her poetry is published online, internationally in a Chinese publication, and in the Adelaide Literary Magazine, USA.
Helen has taught creative writing (fiction) and poetry at the Fremantle Arts Centre in association with OOTA (Out of the Asylum Writers Inc.) In 2004, she received a poetry mentorship award from the ASA studying with Jean Kent. In 2008, she won a Macquarie/Varuna Longlines Poetry scholarship. resulting in the publication of "Evangelyne & Other Poems" (2009). "of Arc & Shadow" was published by Sunline Press, (2013). Her debut novel "The Last Asbestos Town" has just been released and published by Adelaide Books, New York, (May 2020)
Helen Hagemann holds a Masters in Writing from Edith Cowan University.
