Summary

Andrew O'Connell is the author of the 'Eventyr' series of short stories. 'Eventyr' is the Danish word for fairy tales - and a nod to Hans Christian Andersen - but, defined by his readers, an 'Eventyr' is "a clever, insightful, intriguing, uplifting, and often ethereal short story with an unexpected ending". Andrew is also an actor, playwright, and educator.

Biography

Andrew published "Eventyr: 12 Unlikely Conversations", in 2015; "Eventyr: 12 Tales of Love Beyond the Grave" was published in 2016; "Eventyr: 12 Tales of Unbreakable Friendship" was published in 2020, and "Eventyr: 12 Tales of Dread and Horror" was published in 2022.

Andrew is also a playwright. His debut play "Stuck" had its world premier in Perth in 2018. His second play "professional premises" had its world premier in Perth in 2020. The bilingual play "Le sorelle" {The Sisters}" had its world premier in Perth in 2022.

Andrew teaches academic and creative writing at Curtin University, Perth. He has a range of insightful workshops on editing (focusing on the linguistic phenomenon known as "discourse"), as well as workshops on playwriting, and acting!
