Andrew Charlton is a Perth-based author who adores all things fantasy. Growing up on Warhammer and locked into the eternal purgatory that is being a forever DM in Dungeons & Dragons, he escapes the constant questions of his players by – you guessed it – writing more fantasy. When he’s not writing, reading or enjoying fantasy in some fashion, he’s writing at his day job as a marketing content specialist. If you took the pen out of his hand, he might well turn to ash.

Andrew is an avid public speaker and an engaging presenter. Whether discussing writing as a whole or getting into the weeds of fantasy, there’s nothing he loves more than sharing and discussing the world of fiction.

Biography

Andrew Charlton's first novel, Taking Flight, focuses on the journey of a young noblewoman in a fantasy world. Thrown from the life she knows, she struggles to align her vision of what adventure would be like against the harsh realities presented to her. Forced to fight to survive, she must fight even harder to hold onto her morals and find her way home.

Taking Flight is the first in the Tomes of Ascension series, which Andrew plans seven entries for. The second entry, On Wing, is set to release in 2025.

Andrew is a Curtin-trained journalist and presenter who has worked at radio stations and magazines before settling into his current role as a content marketing coordinator.
