Alex Kopp is a Perth based author and education writer who has a particular interest in history. She loves using primary historical sources such as objects, photographs or newspaper articles for both research and as inspiration for her stories.
Biography
Alex is a former History teacher. After leaving the classroom, Alex joined the Learning and Creativity team at the WA Museum, where she ran a wide range of education and engagement programs for audiences ranging from kindy age to adult. She currently juggles her time between working as a community wellbeing educator in the not-for-profit sector, writing books and running an educational consultancy which supports organisations in the development of learning resources linked to heritage, culture and social justice.
Alex comes from a migrant background and understands the complexities of identity and belonging within a multicultural society. She is fascinated by the impact of new migrants on Australian identity and way of life, from the first European explorers and settlers to more recent arrivals.
