We're between the lines, helping our writing industry thrive

Talented Young Writers’ Programme at The Literature Centre

The Talented Young Writers’ Programme is a unique opportunity for students to participate in full day writing workshops with award-winning Australian authors. The programme is split into age groups: Youth Literature Days for older students (Years 9-12), Young Writer Days (Years 7-8) and Junior Writer Days (Year 6).

Avid readers and keen writers will be immersed in creativity and be able to explore their own ideas while being guided through exercises by our talented authors. They can share their own writing and learn from others in a safe, encouraging space. These full day writing workshops are currently held each term at our Centre in Fremantle, and also in Bunbury, Busselton, Albany and Geraldton.

Students attend 1 day per term, 4 days per year. A different author will present to them each time, bringing new perspectives and skills to encourage these aspiring writers. The cost for the full year is $120 per student.

If a student wants to come to the programme but their school isn’t already involved or they are homeschooled, they can apply to be a private student.
