Submit startling stories set in Sydney’s past.

Maybe you know a story that you’d like to tell OR you’ve always wondered about a person, place or event and would like to delve more deeply OR you would just like to explore the archives to see what stories you can discover.

The organisers are keen to uncover rich and little-known aspects of the City of Sydney’s local Government area (see map). You are invited to imagine voices from between the lines of the archives. Bring the past to life in new ways.

Word limits: 450 to 500 words or 2-3 mins of audio recording.

Free to enter.

Selected writers will be paid $200. If your submission is selected, you will be invited to work with the curators to prepare your work for publication as an audio-story on the Sonic City–Sydney website.
