Teachers, do your students struggle with Visual Literacy?
Take a look at the Term 4 Australian picture book exhibitions at The Literature Centre.
These exhibitions of original artwork, drafts and research material will be exhibited at The Literature Centre for tailored workshops suitable for students Pre-Primary to Year 8.
Term 4 Book Exhibitions include:
- Queen Celine by Matt Shanks
- Applesauce and the Christmas Miracle by Glenda Millard & Stephen Michael King
- Nobody Owns the Moon by Tohby Riddle
- The Dam by David Almond & Levi Pinfold
All Literature Workshops are linked to the Literature Strand of the Western Australian Curriculum, in particular ‘Responding to Literature’.
Students work within an exhibition of original artwork from an Australian picture book. ($11.00 per student, 2 hours, minimum fee applies).
Exhibitions include drafts, research material, photographs, storyboards, dummy books and preliminary artwork.
Workshops are interactive and may involve discussion, prediction, viewing, drama, writing and illustration.
Important: Teachers, please do not read the picture book to your class before a workshop.
Please visit The Literature Centre’s website for more information on the exhibitions and workshops. Alternatively, you can download a copy of the Centre’s term 4 newsletter, which also contains details of each exhibition.
