Magabala Books Cadetship Program Underway

Magabala Books is proud to welcome Sharona Wilson and Melena Cole-Manolis to its team as part of Magabala’s new Indigenous Publishing Cadetship program.

The Publishing Cadetship program, launched by Magabala Books in 2020 and supported by The Ian Potter Foundation and the Kimberley Development Commission, seeks to create meaningful employment pathways for Indigenous publishing professionals by providing supportive and scaffolded on-the-job training.

Over a two-year program, under the supervision of Magabala Publisher Rachel Bin Salleh, Sharona and Melena will gain experience across all areas of the organisation and receive a wide range of professional development, including external industry mentoring and a secondment opportunity at another publishing house.
