Writing WA has launched a Virtual Event Fund as part of the Love to Read Local 2020 campaign.

Writing WA has recently succeeded in securing funding from the Copyright Agency Cultural Fund to enable up to 16 Virtual Book Club events with WA authors.

Information about the Fund, and a simple application form, are available on the Love to Read Local website.

If you are an author who has lost Book Club gigs because of Covid-19 feel free to contact those Clubs to let them know they now have the opportunity to reschedule your event as an online event.

If you are a publisher of authors who would like to participate in virtual events with Book Clubs, please make sure your authors and book club networks are aware if this new opportunity.

If your organisation supports/hosts a Book Club – or would like to use this opportunity to establish one – then please pass on this information and encourage them to take advantage of this opportunity.

Applications to host events should be made by Book Clubs (not authors).

Writing WA will pay participating authors’ fees at the ASA recommended rate of $300.00 (for virtual events).

The application process is simple and straightforward. We will process applications in order of receipt until the money runs out.
