CBCA Notables 2021

The Children’s Book Council of Australia has announced the 2021 Notables.

Western Australian creators and publishers include:

  • Bindi by Kirli Saunders, illustrated by Dub Leffler and published by Magabala Books (Younger Readers)
  • The Stolen Prince of Cloudburst by Jaclyn Moriarty and illustrated by Kelly Canby (Younger Readers)
  • Australia Under the Sea 1, 2, 3 by Frané Lessac (Early Childhood)
  • Respect by Aunty Fay Muir & Sue Lawson, illustrated by Lisa Kennedy and published by Magabala Books (Early Childhood)
  • We Love You, Magoo by Briony Stewart (Early Childhood)
  • No Never! by Libby Hathorn & Lisa Hathorn-Jarman, illustrated by Mel Pearce (Early Childhood)
  • Littlelight by Kelly Canby, published by Fremantle Press (Picture Book of the Year)
  • Norton and the Bear by Gabriel Evans (Picture Book of the Year)
  • How to Make a Bird by Meg McKinlay, illustrated by Matt Ottley (Picture Book of the Year)
  • Shirley Purdie: My Story, Ngaginybe Jarragbe by Shirley Purdie, published by Magabala Books (Eva Pownall Award)
