The Australian Book Design Association has announced its longlist for the 2020 Australian Book Design Awards (ABDA).
Congratulations to all those who have been longlisted, but especially these Western Australian titles:
Best Designed Children’s Illustrated Book:
- Lights Out, Leonard by John Pyke, illustrated by Chris Nixon (designer: Marina Messihapublisher; Puffin, an imprint of Penguin Random House Australia)
Best Designed Children’s/Young Adults Series:
- Catch a Falling Star, Surface Tension and Annabel, Again by Meg McKinlay (designer: Mika Tabata; publisher: Walker Books Australia)
- Hive and Rogue by A.J. Betts (designer: Astred Hicks, Design Cherry; publisher:Pan Australia, an imprint of Pan Macmillan Australia)
Best Designed Commercial Fiction:
- Well-Behaved Women by Emily Paull (designer: Debra Billson; publisher: Margaret River Press)
