2020 CBCA Shortlist

The CBCA shortlist has been announced.

Congratulations to Western Australian creators who were included on the shortlist:

Meg McKinlay was shortlisted for Catch a Falling Star in the Younger Readers category.

Karen Blair illustrated When Billy was a Dog, which was written by Kirsty Murray and shortlisted in the Early Childhood category.

Congratulations also go to Magabala Books, who had three books shortlisted in the New Illustrator category:

  • Leanne Mulgo Watson for Cooee Mittigar: A Story on Darug Songlines (written by Jasmine Seymour);
  • Jasmine Seymour for Baby Business;
  • Johnny Warrkatja Malibirr for Little Bird’s Day (written by Sally Morgan).

Young Dark Emu by Bruce Pascoe and published by Magabala Books also received a shortlisting for the Eve Pownall Award.
