2019 ALS Gold Medal Shortlist Announced

Congratulations to Charmaine Papertalk-Green and John Kinsella, whose book False Claims of Colonial Thieves (published by Magabala Books) has been shortlisted for the ALS Gold Medal.

The ALS Gold Medal is awarded annually for an outstanding literary work in the preceding calendar year. The Medal was inaugurated by the Australian Literature Society, which was founded in Melbourne in 1899 and incorporated into the Association for the Study of Australian Literature in 1982.

Other shortlisted titles are:

  • Aqua Spinach, Luke Beesley (Giramondo)
  • Beautiful Revolutionary, Laura Elizabeth Woollett (Scribe)

  • Pink Mountain on Locust Island, Jamie Marina Lau (Brow)
  • The Death of Noah Glass, Gail Jones (Text)

The winner will be announced in July.
