Biography (December 2018; See more at thepoetjackson.com ) JACKSON was born in Cumbria, England, and officially lives in Western Australia. She is a computer science graduate, English language teacher and poet. In 2018 she completed her PhD in Writing at Edith Cowan University, exploring how poetry might harmonise Daoism with modern physics and complexity theory and writing her third book, *A coat of ashes*, which will be published by Recent Work Press in early 2019. ===== Since 1991 her work has been published in Australian and overseas journals and anthologies, including the *Australian Poetry Journal*, *The High Window* and the *Fremantle Press Anthology of Western Australian Poetry*. She has published two books, a chapbook, seven zines and a CD. She was the featured essayist in *The High Window* issue 7. Her hundreds of public appearances include the Queensland and Tasmanian Poetry Festivals. She won the 2014 Ethel Webb Bundell Poetry Prize and has won second prizes in the Glen Phillips Poetry Prize and the Karen W Treanor Award. Her collected works website is archived by the National Library of Australia. ===== In 2009 Jackson founded Perth Poetry Club, a highly successful weekly reading and community group, which is now well-known across the poetry world and has launched many poets' public careers. She coordinated it until 2012. In 2013 she founded the online poetry journal *Uneven Floor*, editing it until 2018. ===== Jackson has two adult children, and has worked as a computer programmer, a charity telemarketer, a voluntary breastfeeding counsellor, and an unprofitably self-employed editor and writing teacher. In 2018 she qualified to teach English as a second language and taught international students in Perth, Western Australia. In September 2018 she began a year teaching in China.
Publication History (December 2018) Since 1991, Jackson's work has been published in Australian, American, English and Canadian journals and anthologies, including the *Australian Poetry Journal*, *The High Window*, *Westerly*, *Plumwood Mountain*, *Cordite*, and the *Fremantle Press Anthology of Western Australian Poetry*. She has published two books, *Coracle* (2009) and *lemon oil* (Mulla Mulla Press 2013); her third, *A coat of ashes*, will be published by Recent Work Press in early 2019. She is seeking a publisher for her fourth. Her chapbook *q finger* was published by PressPress in 2011. She has also published seven zines and a CD, and was the featured essayist in *The High Window* issue 7.
