Summary

Experienced business professional and published non-fiction author with expertise in the areas of professional writing, business analysis, digital marketing, award submissions, blog writing and content creation.

With an ability to cut-through detailed information and determine what is important to the intended readers, I am adept at delivering content that pitches at the right level for what people want and need to know. Whether it is translating complex and technical content into an accessible and readable format or preparing award submissions that ticks all the boxes, my experience is broad and varied.

I am available to assist first-time authors convert a blog to a non-fiction book or to perform strong structural edits on non-fiction books and help new authors find clarity and vision. I am an expert in digital marketing and understand the importance of using the right keywords in your book title and meta description to ensure that readers can find your book. This can also help clarify the content that will work in your current framework and the content that needs to be edited out (and perhaps form the basis for another book altogether).

If you have a draft manuscript that needs a structural edit, or need help getting a blog started and content written using the right keywords for your niche, I can help you find an engaging and marketable angle for your book.

Biography

Experienced Small Business Manager and Writer with over 30 years of experience in a broad range of industry sectors and tertiary qualifications in both Business and Professional Writing, I have authored two non-fiction books. The first ‘Nail Your Renovation without getting Screwed’ has been a commercial and critical success with strong sales and positive reviews:
'An absolute renovator's bible of what to do and what not do' Blue Wolf Reviews
'A definitive guide to all the nitty-gritty of home renovation' The West Australian

My second non-fiction book 'Food for Braces' is a guide and recipe book to help people wearing braces with interesting soft food ideas that won't break or stain their braces. This was published late in 2022 and with evergreen content, world-wide appeal and well-researched keywords and phrases in the book title and meta descirption, it is set to perform strongly in terms of sales with very little competition with this niche.

Apart from the two published books, I have an extensive portfolio of writing that includes successful award submissions (winning submissions for Telstra business awards, HIA Awards, MBA Awards), product fact sheets, user guides, online help, website and brochure content, engaging social media posts, blogs, magazine articles, newspaper articles, e-brochures, resume templates, suite of correspondence templates for small business, standardised email templates and more.

Early in my career I completed a bachelor's degree in Information Technology and my skills and interest in the online world provide an extra element to any project I undertake. Depending on the project, important information can be sourced by undertaking SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) research to find out what keywords are being used by the target customer/audience, research Facebook groups to gauge level of interest and what issues matter most to people in relation to the topic and other digital methods. With access to a number of softwware tools, I am able to undertake competitor research or research into similar concepts that can provide key information that can influence the approach taken to a body of work. The aim is to shape a strong framework for a project that will generate interest and maximise appeal.

Creating content that people WANT to read is important to me. I find that many potential authors have a message they want to get out there, but do not approach the project from an audience-driven perspective. I am available to help others achieve success in getting their message out there.
