Summary

Sally Murphy loves to write and talk. A lot. So, when she's not writing, she's talking about writing. Her award winning books for children (and adults in touch with their inner child) include Pearl Verses the World and Toppling, and she has written picture books, verse novels, historical fiction and more.
An enthusiastic presenter, Sally loves to work with audiences of all sizes and all ages.

Biography

Sally Murphy is a children’s author, poet and educator. With over 50 books published, ranging from educational resource books, to light-hearted picture books, tender verse novels and historical fiction, her works have garnered awards including the Children’s Book category of both the Western Australian and Queensland Premiers’ Book Awards. Her books have been published overseas, including the US and UK and translations into Korean, chines and Slovenian.
Sally is passionate about sharing a joy for life and for all things book with children and adults. She has presented in schools and libraries, at festivals and at workshops across Australia and internationally, and has a long career as a teacher. She has a PhD in Creative Writing and lectures in education at Curtin University. Her latest book, Bushfire, is a fictional account of the Victorian bushfires of 2009.
