Biography
Richard Regan joined the British Merchant Navy at a time when a quarter of the world's shipping flew the Red Ensign. Over a 40 year career, afloat and ashore, in which he served in cargo ships, tankers and passenger ships, he visited all parts of the globe and amassed a wealth of experiences, characters and settings that inspire his writings. He has written two novels set in the late 1930s, telling the story of a captain and the aging tramp steamer he commands. A third novel is in progress. Richard also writes short stories, travelogues, essays, and the occasional poem.
