Biography
Lacey founded her first business - a hair wrap stall - at 10 years old. Today, she helps people become financially independent and reclaim their lives. She founded Money School in 2010 to build financial capability in adults and Maker Kids Club in 2017 to teach children money skills through enterprise. Thousands of people around the world have used Lacey’s courses to liberate themselves from debt, start saving and get on the path to independence.
Between hair wraps and start-ups, Lacey graduated as valedictorian from the University of Queensland with an Honours degree in Chemical Engineering. She moved to Australia’s ‘wild west’ to begin her career in mining, rising quickly through the ranks on site. A health scare and her sister’s suicide opened her eyes to the world beyond work, leading her to redesign her life.
Lacey started investing at 19 and now earns a passive income from her assets. She considers herself ‘time rich’: able to choose if, when, where, how, on what and with whom she works. Helping others learn the skills they need to achieve financial independence is how she chooses to spend her time.
