Kitty Black writes books for kids. With a background in psychology and teaching, Kitty believes stories are at the heart of who we are and every child deserves to see themselves as a hero. Kitty is the author of 'Who's Afraid of the Quite Nice Wolf' (New Frontier, 2019) and 'A Crocodile in the Family' (Hachette, 2020) with more books on the way.
Biography
Kitty Black is an internationally published children's book author. Her debut picture book 'Who's Afraid of the Quite Nice Wolf' (Illustrated by Laura Wood, published by New Frontier) was released in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and translated into German. It was also selected as part of the 'Silly Squad' Summer Reading Challenge 2020. 'A Crocodile in the Family' (Illustrated by Daron Parton, published by Hachette) will be released in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and translated into Turkish. Another picture book 'Mr Bat Wants A Hat' (to be release 2021) was developed during her Fellowship at Paper Bird in 2018. She is particularly passionate about neurodivergence and representation in children's literature. Kitty is the recipient of a Creative Development Arts Grant in 2020 to further develop her middle grade novel series.
