Summary
Katie Stewart is a children's author and illustrator who lives on a farm outside Northam. She is a keen nature lover and especially loves to illustrate animals. She has a business, Magic Owl Design, where she makes covers for self-published books, both illustrated and photo-manipulated. Her first traditionally published picture book, "What Colour is the Sea?" came out in March 2020, after five self-published books, mostly YA and children's fantasy.
Biography
Katie Stewart is a children’s author and illustrator. Born in the north of England, she came to Australia at the age of nine. She has worked as an archaeologist, teacher and school library assistant, but writing and illustrating have always been her dream. Her first traditionally published book, “What Colour is the Sea?” came out with Fremantle Press in March, 2020 and her second, “Where Do the Stars Go?” is due out mid-2021, also with Fremantle Press.
Katie is a keen nature lover, so much of her work is about animals. She lives just north of Northam with her farmer husband. They have three grown children and a menagerie of pets. She has been involved in a number of Writers Festivals in the Avon Valley as well as doing talks/workshops at the Northam Library and in local schools.
