Summary

Julie's creative palette is her diversity of practice which reveals an ability to imagine, realise and inspire imagery as an individual artist/designer, past academic and current freelance writer, illustrator and workshop leader.

Biography

Julie’s experience reveals an interdisciplinary approach within the arts, as seen in:

Illustration commissions including children and adult literature while costume and set design incorporate festivals, opera, dance and theatre, with shows interstate and in WA. Along with this is Julie’s work in public art, commissioned by the WA Government Percent for Art Scheme and various South West and metropolitan municipalities.

Writing, research, lecturing and workshops in design and the visual arts have been at Edith Cowan University, North Metro Campus as well as the South West and independent metropolitan locations. More recently self-determined personal writing projects have become a priority.

Julie’s achievements are cited in “Artlink”, “Craftswest”, “A Dictionary of Women Artists in Australia”, “Who’s Who of Australian Visual Artists”’ and a “Spirited Place”. With work in Art Collections, her personal output includes solos and numerous group exhibitions Australia wide, as well as in France, Germany, Wales and Vietnam.
