Jo Morrison is a writer and freelance editor, based in Perth, Western Australia.


Jo Morrison's first novel, 'Still Dark', was shortlisted for the 2020 TAG Hungerford Award. Her short fiction includes 'Night Road to Ceduna' (Westerly, 2016), 'This old Thing' (Best Prose Piece, Meniscus, April 2018) and 'Of the Water' (Shortlisted for the Margaret River Press Short Story prize in 2017; anthologised in Joiner Bay and Other Stories (Margaret River Press, 2017)).

A former journalist, Jo has worked as a teletext news captioner, a reporter and writer for the Community Newspaper Group, and a journalist for the independent 'Fremantle Herald'. She is a professional member of IPEd and has a Creative Writing PhD from Murdoch University, where she works as a sessional tutor.
