As Promotions Officer she travelled the state talking to schools and community groups about the work of the Red Cross. She also wrote and managed the Red Cross Youth News magazine which went out to all youth members across the state and schools.

In 2000 she began working as a market research consultant providing advice to a wide range of companies including Telecom, Challenge Bank, WA Tourism. After another three years she was offered a job at HBF to set up a consumer research department. During her eight years at HBF she was responsible for research into new products, advertising campaigns and marketing. She was responsible for the research behind the Ted Campaign which generated results better than Cocoa Cola.

She left HBF to start her own consultancy The Customers Voice which continues to consult to blue chip companies today. She specialises in brand, advertising, marketing and service research (e.g. the ECU brand for 16 yrs; worldwide study for Chevron; Woolworths to name a few) and social issues (e.g. Australia wide research into domestic violence; Alcohol/drug issues during the Americans Cup). She has year of experience undertaking indepth interviews with a broad range of people from CEO's to multi-drug users, the homeless to celebrities.

In 2005 the sudden passing of her partner saw her write "50 Ways To Grieve Your Lover" as a way to help her through the loss. As noted this was used during major disasters (e.g. the NZ Pike Mine Disaster and Black Monday). The follow up book "Me Time" was written after watching too many colleagues develop mental health issues and one take his life. Her blog "The Ponder Room" started in 2011 as a way to gather humorous insights on life, and has grown into a well respected e-magazine that helps people get the most out of life. Similar topics feature in her monthly column with Swan Magazine, some of which now also feature in her book "Wit and Wisdom". Her fictional comedy writing features in two Anthologies, a short story book "Sunk" and an award winning short story "Gluteus Maximus There She Blows".
