Summary

I'm the author of six crime novels and three non-fiction books. I write essays, reviews, and articles, and speak regularly at festivals, schools, libraries and book clubs.

Biography

I'm a Fremantle-based author of five crime novels and three non-fiction books, including 'Perth', part of the NewSouth Books city series. My crime novels include the Frank Swann series: Line of Sight, Zero at the Bone, and Old Scores, each set in 1970s and 1980s Perth, and each published by Suhrkamp Verlag in Germany. My most recent crime novel is True West (2019), and my next is Shore Leave, out with Fremantle Press in November 2020. I write reviews, essays, articles and speak regularly at writer's festivals, libraries and book clubs. I live in Fremantle with my wife and three kids, and coordinate the creative writing program at Curtin University.
