Amber Moffat is an author and visual artist from New Zealand, currently based in Western Australia. She writes for both children and adults. Amber is an experienced teacher and fierce advocate for arts education. She believes that being able to share stories is the most magnificent thing about being human.


Amber’s picture book I Would Dangle the Moon (MidnightSun Publishing) was released in 2019. Amber was both the author and illustrator for I Would Dangle the Moon. Her short fiction for adults has been published by Westerly, Landfall, Overland, Meniscus and Night Parrot Press. Amber is has extensive teaching experience and enjoys sharing her practice with children and adults. She has been awarded an Emerging Writers’ Mentorship by the Australian Society of Authors and a Paper Bird Fellowship from Fremantle’s Paper Bird Books and Arts. She is currently a PhD candidate in Creative Writing at Edith Cowan University.
