UPDATE: Please note that this event has been cancelled due to ongoing concerns about the possible spread of coronavirus.

The Vincent Library is celebrating Youth Week WA 2020 with a talk by Young Adult author Holden Sheppard.

Holden will be talking about his City of Fremantle T.A.G. Hungerford Award winning debut novel, Invisible Boys.

This debut novel centres on a group of very different teenage boys growing up gay in Geraldton. Holden will share his motive for writing the novel and will also talk about his own journey – both the struggle to become a published author and his struggle for self-acceptance as a gay man in light of various challenges growing up.

People of all ages are welcome to attend this talk.

About Holden Sheppard: Holden Sheppard is an award-winning Young Adult author born and bred in Geraldton, Western Australia. At eighteen, he left home, abandoning a career as a fairly average earthmoving labourer to move to Perth and pursue his passion for writing.
