An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on Monday, repeating until 3 August 2020

A six-week online creative writing course to buoy us in challenging times.

Live workshops on Zoom (real time video conferencing) from London are supportive and creative melting pots with writers from my two homes, UK and Australia, and beyond, responding to what we are seeing around us, extraordinary times, finding the best in ourselves and others, discovering resilience and beauty in the world we love and inspiration from our writing. In these times of global pandemic and disastrous climate change, words matter more than ever.

Participants will read together in a public reading on Zoom at the conclusion of the workshops.

Who is it for? Prose, poetry or memoir writers to spur creativity, generate and share ideas and new writing. There are separate writing feedback workshops for those who want to focus on honing their craft.

Thursday workshops: 25 June – 30 July at 10am UK time, 5pm Western Australia; 7pm Australian Eastern Standard time

Monday workshops: 29 June – 3 August at 10.30am UK time, 5.30pm Western Australia; 7.30pm Australian Eastern Standard time.

Reading for both groups 15 August at 11am UK time, 6pm Western Australia; 8pm Australian Eastern Standard time

Workshops are limited to 10 participants, 2.5hrs long with writing breaks. You’ll need a steady camera for Zoom, (ideally the functionality on a laptop rather than a phone).

Cost: £110GBP or $220AUD OR concession £90GBP or $180 AUD Discounted & free passes: as some have lost their income in these difficult times, Cath Drake is offering some discounted and free slots to those not able to pay.

To enroll: Contact Cath Drake and tell me where you are in the world and a little about your writing (and if you are applying for a free pass tell me a bit about your situation). I’d love to hear from you. Let me know if you can do either Monday or Thursday and your preference. (There is also a chance of a Friday.)

Workshops will continue through the year so get in touch any time to join the mailing list. There are feedback workshops. and I also do online mentoring.
