Writing About Womanhood with Maddie Godfrey

18 April @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free
Image description: Maddie Godfrey wears a checked shirt and sits at a large table. They are looking at the camera. Their hands hold a pen and notebook open on the table.

This April, join Maddie Godfrey as they explore writing about womanhood. A writer, educator, editor and the 2020 Kat Muscat Fellow, Maddie’s career has focused on exploring womanhood throughout society. This workshop will examine the techniques they use to create a perfect piece of writing and encourage participants to start writing their own poems.

In 2020, Maddie was a National Trust Writer in Residence at Peninsula Farm. While here, Maddie took an interest in Ann Hardy’s place of rest, a brass four-poster bed, and wrote ‘Unmade’. This poem has since won the Tom Collins Poetry Prize.

Maddie’s book will be available for purchase for $20 (cash only) on the day.

Writing materials will be provided. Please bring along your own refreshments.

This event is proudly supported by Lotterywest and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

This event is free but bookings are essential.
