School Visits: How to Be Booked and Make Them Work for You

26 February @ 7:30 am - 9:30 am

$60 – $120

One of the key ways to supplement your income as a children’s author is to conduct school visits. But how do you get started?

In this online session run by the Australian Society of Authors, you will hear from a panel of two authors, Deborah Abela and Kirsty Murray, and Sandie Fraser from the Speaker Bureau, on how they manage the business of speaking in schools.

You will learn:

  • how to build your speaker/presenter business
  • which relationships are necessary
  • how to nurture those relationships so you have regular work in schools

Plus, you’ll learn what the Speaker Bureau looks for in authors who join their speakers list, and how they work with schools to promote the authors they represent.

The session will cover the sorts of things authors need to consider and all the action steps required if you want to supplement your income and grow your readership through presenting and speaking in schools.

This workshop takes place 10.30 am to12.30 pm AEDT (7.30 am to 9.30 am in Western Australia).
