Mastering Creative Research with Ana Brawls: From Design to Serendipity

29 November @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Are you a writer looking to incorporate research into your creative work? Join us for an insightful, free workshop led by Ana Brawls, designed for writers who are new to research or those seeking fresh approaches to integrating research into their creative process.

Ana Brawls was the recipient of the Neilma Sidney Literary Travel Fund from Writers Victoria and The Myer Foundation earlier this year. In preparing for her next manuscript, Ana chose to research on location in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo visiting Libraries, Museums and Institutes preserving heritage and culture. Ana will use her writing process and research to demonstrate how to:

· Prepare and design research for creative work

· Methods for collating information

· Apply the findings into your work

· Lessons learned and the serendipity in coming across information

· Practice: Designing research to suit your work

WHAT TO BRING?

Bring examples of your work (if you want) or works you are working on that could benefit from research. Bring your own laptop or pen and paper to write. You are also welcome to bring your own dinner or snacks. If you have any allergies, please contact us at [email protected].
